very sorry to hear about your baby... please keep us updated! |
You HAVE to take her to get the ultrasound. My foster had bladderstones for over a year and her former owner was in denial. They said she totally acted normal and ate and played (yeah right on the playing part) and they didn't give her the medical attention she needed. when I picked her up she was peeing straight blood. Blood red pee, not pink. She had four large stones that they removed from surgery. They also checked for cancer, thank goodness that came up neg. Katie is 6 yrs old as well. Since the rescue paid for the surgery, I do not know how much it cost, but I can tell you, she was on IVs for 3 days before they could do surgery (white cell count too high, had to flush out her system, and she was anemic), then the surgery itself, then 2 more days at the hospital for observation. So about 7 days worth of hospital stay. I'm going to tell you, it's not going to be cheap, but if you ignore the problem, it will only get worse, and even more expensive to treat, and your girl could even die. Does she have a history of UTI, and was she on any kind of special diet? |
thanks thank you everyone for your replies we ARE going to get her help of course, but we do not have deep pockets i wish we did.i just hate that this is even happening.i heard bladder tumors where rare and its so hard to believe.when the vet called us we was expecting her to have a uti (which she never had one before) but when they said bladder tumor i could have died.we love our girl so much and i hope they can help her somehow!:animal-pa |
