Food question...Does Bella eat too much? too Little? Bella, 2 lbs, 18 weeks, seems to never get full. At this weight and age does anyone have any suggestions on how much she should be eating. She always seems to be hungry and I swear if she had a refillable bowl she would eat until she explodes! I feed her about a cup a day of dry kibble (Royal Canine) and Science formula wet food only in the morning. She gets fed three times a day and sometimes 4 time depending on how long her day is. I know she should be eating less but if she is hungry I want to feed the poor thing! Anyone know how much she should be eating??? Thank you and happy late mothers day to all my yorkie moms :) |
To be completely accurate I feed her about 3/4 cup of food a day but sometimes want to give her more because she still looks at her bowl for food! I just don't want to be over feeding her or under feeding her. The back of the bag says she should be eating about 1/2 a cup a day! |
I hope someone answers, because I have the SAME problem. We too are on Royal Canin and I feel like she's always wanting more food. |
Well, Farrah is 6mos old, weighs 3.8lbs and eats 1/3 cup of Eagle Pack dry kibble with 1 tbspn of chicken or beef with it daily. That's it. And I swear she is a poop machine. lol Good luck. |
I feed each of mine (5 and 6 pounds) 1/2 cup per day plus 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese. However at 18 weeks old and only 2 pounds, I would let her eat however much she wants and worry about regulating amounts and weight as she gets older. |
you may want to consider switching to a different food with less fillers. She could not feel satisfied with the royal canin. |

Thank you and yes that is my thought exactly but I am worried that she will eat until she gets sick!! She eats so much more than her little body can hold. At the end of the day her tummy is so big until she goes to the bathroom and gets it all out lol. I just want to make sure I don't hurt her by feeding her too much. So do you think it would be ok to feed her until she is full? |
she is eating so much because her body digestive system is not absorbing any of the nutrients from the junk food your giving her. gl |
