I'm going to try the lavender. I want to take Zoe with me on a trip this week. But I'm so scared to because she gets so carsick :( My family always used Benedryl or Dramamine on our dogs but I don't want to go that route. I used something OTC at Petsmart once but it didn't work and I gave it away. |

Link for the other Composure Liquid - Calming support supplement for dogs (canine) and cats (feline) Calming cap calming cap for dogs Tellington Touch What is TTouch®? - Tellington TTouch Training™ Wrap Anxiety Wrap for the nervous or unconfident dog No I was saying I would not use Rescue remedy as there was no testing as it is something that goes in the dog and could do harm but I was ok with T Touch and the wraps as although no studies they would not do any harm as it was done on the dog. what about cerenia for car sickness? There are two forms one for anti-vomitting and one for car sickness. The one for car sickness is much stronger as I have looked into it for dex. Has anyone used this? http://www.pfizerah.com/Product_Over...=EN&species=CN |

I forgot also look into "Through a Dog's Ear" music for dogs based on breakthrough research to improve the health of your canine companion great calming music and many are taking notice of it. So you are aware at the end of the dogs ears is an endorphine ( sp) release point and that is why ear rubbing on dogs work most times if pressure is use to trigger that release. There is another located in the under the nose and above the upper lip as well. As for the be careful what I like about Bio calm is that it is natural and will not cause problems with most dogs. JL |

I would much rather give my dog, and anyone in my family including me that has been used for over 70 years (near 80) and that is natural then a pill from the vet. These products work for the majority of animals and people. It is made the same exact way, by the family and bottling plant/distributor for over 70 years. The alcohol is used to make the tinctures and is used as a preservative. It is also the type of alcohol that is used, Brandy is one and grape alcohol. The alcohol in tinctures actually evaporates to a point. and it is not enough alcohol to hurt someone, or make them groggy or for that matter, get drunk..lol If you were take a gallon of it (tincture) ya might get darn good buzz on, but these are very minute (tiny) amounts your actually getting For 12 years I have used the products on myself, hubby, son, dogs, etc without any problems and I have terrible allergies. And they work for us. But I read all about it on the link you sent and it sounds like a really good product. I just don't understand why it cannot be used on a dog 16 weeks and younger. Like where did they come up with that exact age? lol.. Would be nice to be able to give it to puppies be flown and such (of course pre-tested on the pup b4 leaving).. I always LOVE the possible side effects of drugs...... But these are a little concerning to me.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Does CERENIA have any side effects? Most dogs do very well on CERENIA. But as with all medicines, some dogs may experience side effects. Side effects are rare with CERENIA, but when they do occur, the most common ones are excessive drooling, lethargy, lack of appetite, and diarrhea. A few dogs may vomit after taking the medicine. Giving CERENIA with a small amount of food will help avoid this. Remember not to wrap the tablets tightly, so they can dissolve properly. Is CERENIA right for all dogs? The safe use of CERENIA has not been tested in female dogs that are breeding, pregnant or are nursing, dogs that have swallowed foreign objects, and dogs that have eaten poisonous substances. Caution should be used in giving CERENIA to dogs with liver problems. CERENIA is recommended for dogs 16 weeks and older. The most common side effects seen with CERENIA are excessive drooling (5-13%), lethargy (9%) and vomiting not due to motion sickness (5-9%). |

I used Rescue Remedy on my Bryan last year when we flew to Florida for Thanksgiving. I put 3 drops in his water in the airport and within ten minutes he voluntarily got into his carrier which he neve does and stayed they for then entire flight.....I made his eyes very glassy and he kept licking his lips....don't think i would do that to him again..... |

Also remember, there is NO alcohol in the pet RR.. |

I never said it caused problems or would cause problems or anything about its content. Show me those studies I look into it more but I like my stuff to have legs outside folk lore. JL |

This does not mean it doesn't work. Same goes for human use. |
Quote:
What it is made does not cause problems as you can freely double the dose and it will have no ill effects and by the looks of what I read the same can not be said of RR. Once the field after 70 years gets it act together and does testing at high enough standards to provide reliable data then I will look at it again. I truly hope it does not take another 70 years. Use what you want, I thought we were here to talk about rescue remedy.. Most natural remedies, and herbs and even vitamins are NOT tested. They do not fall under the FDA rules and guidelines. Use whatever you want, I honestly don't care, but there is no need to attack my opinion! |

I don't think it is even carried by vets here in the US is it? thanks |

I would give U of Guelph a call and see if they will release the tests done that to you. Will take a direct call. JL |
