Puppy Food question It took me forever to get Shay straightened out on food, if any of you remember last yr I was going nuts...lol..he is doing really well...on Natures Recipe...I also have Bella (5 months) on it too. I free feed them...they are both very small ( I almost said ppl..lol) munchkins...Bella having issues with pooping, not consistently but more than not, too hard too soft...like Shay did last yr... Is there something else you would recommend that I should try? I would hate to have 2 different foods, but will do whatever they need.... |
How long has Bella been on this food and how long has she been having the pooping problems? |
Bella has been on it since I brought her home, she had some issues with potty (breeder had fed her table food...so had to get that out of her system)...so almost 3 months, on Natures recipe...it hasnt been bad, but last few days seemed like it has been a lil worse...I did shave her bottom last night and trmimmed around back too, cause it was sticking..constantly (sorry so literal) but want to give all facts, so I can do what I need to... |
I'd take her to the vet and get a fecal done or call the vet and see if he can give her some antibiotics based on her symptoms. Rex and Rudy both went through that a few weeks ago and they eat different foods. The doc put them on an antibiotic and they were cleared up within the next day or so. I say that to say, it may not be the food. She may have some kind of parasite or something. Hope that helps. |
Bella did have Giardia..when we got her, she had 2 different meds, she took numerous times a day, for a week...but it all cleared up....I will definatlly take another sample in, to be on the safe side...She showed NO signs of it, when vet called and said fecaltest showed positive for it...Oh I hope its not that again,,,,grrrrrr!!!!!! Thanks for your insight! |
Glad I could help! I hope she gets to feeling better soon. Cleaning up puppy poop is the absolute worst! |
