Question on Shots and other things OK so what shots are yorkie suspose to get? and which one are they NOT supsose to get? I'm new to the whole Yorkie thing. What is the best dog food for them? What is the best shampoo for them? Any other thing you couldn't live without? None of them(we have 3) are in crates, I have a little bed under my desk at work and Raider will crawl in there and lay down. Pheobe will lay next to my desk in her bed are under DH's Desk on a bed I have for her there. |

Best food, You want to find the best balanced food for them, keeping in mind that you can pay top money for what has been identified as the best. However, it doesn't do them any good if they don't eat it. Shampoo and Conditioner, should be predicated on your yorkies, skin and coat texture, it isn't a one size fits all. |
Mardelin gives good advice. I go by the current Dr. Dodd protocol as well. Sophie loves to eat Wellness Dog Food. It's a natural diet. Oh, and Old Mother Hubbard small dog treats made by Wellness. I use Yorkie Splash & Shine for grooming, all organic and the results are amazing. Can't live without...toys. toys, toys! |
Well, sounds like you got the shots covered! Food: My dog also likes wellness, but I went through several foods before I found one he likes. If you go to your pet store and ask there they usually have samples of premium pet foods that you can try and see which one your new baby likes best! I also have tried several shampoos. It's sorta trial and error to find the right one, I"m still looking. As for things he couldn't live without...he LOVES his little squeaky toys. I found them at Pet Supplies Plus. So far I've seen a bear, frog, and duck and he's got them all. They are about three inches tall and one inch wide, and have a velcro enclosure in the back so you can replace the squeaker inside (it comes with a spare). Boo Boo has a basket of toys bigger than he is, but these three are the ones he goes back to again and again. And every night he grabs one of them and brings it to bed with him. Good luck with your new baby! I'm sure you will be a great doggie mom! You are already off to a good start by coming here and asking the questions. |
