11 Weeks and won't eat anything! Bella is 11 weeks today and she will not eat her puppy food!! I called the vet and he told me to put some dry food in a little water and microwave it for 10 seconds and give it to her... she ate it like twice but wont touch it now. I also tried benefuls (i think thats the name) and I bought every flavor and she did the same thing. She ate it like twice and wont touch it again! I know Yorkies are picky eaters but she wont eat anything at all!! Any suggestions? |

Beneful is not great dog food...How long have you had her and what was the breeder feeding her? Dogs have to be slowly introduced to new food. |

I've had her 3 weeks I think. The breeder gave me the same food I usually try to feed her, Iams for small breeds. What do you think would be a better brand to feed her? I even tried to cook chicken for her (the breeder told me to do this) and she didnt eat that either! She is so interested in her toys and the cat. I tried putting her in a room without any distractions and feed her, but she still wont eat. She eats like once a day. Unless she is eating overnight and I dont realize it. I keep Iams out overnight for her (the breeder told me to always make sure she has access to food for the first year). |

Are you sure she isn't sneaking into the cats food? I would feed her only at specific times once a.m. and once p.m. That way if you really want to know what she eats you can know for sure. Put the food down, give her 20 minutes and if she doesn't eat it, put it up for later. |

The cats food is up high on a counter so Bella cant reach it. Yeah, she poops everyday too! I bet she has just been eating at night or something. I mean shes been pooping but like 1 or 2 times a day. |

If you would like to try Lifes Abundance, I will send you FREE samples. It is a holistic food that dogs love. I am a full time pet sitter and have NEVER seen a dog not like it. :) Let me know! (just send me a PM) |

Do you plan on keeping her on dry food? If not I highly recommend Primal Raw food she will eat it like if there was no tomorrow. |

BENEFUL is the worse omg i hate it , smells like candy dog food! if your not looking to spend alot of money you can purchase Merricks Whole Earth Dry Dog Food Formula you can get a 8lb (9.99) and a 17.5lb (19.99) and they also got wet food (1.60) a can, i use both and its good food cause i read the ingredients and i graded it and it has a good score ! |

I had this problem with Addie, our local rescue groups received a lot of food from us! :) Mine have been eating Halo's Spots Stew for a long time, I used the sticky on this forum to calculate the food and it's A+. Also, I found the water, food, microwave thing to not be as successful as mixing some puppy wet food with the dry. We free fed when Addie and Mia were puppies and we continue to do so. As long as you know the cat isn't eating the puppy food, measure out a certain amount of food and the same time the next morning, pour what's left into the measuring cup. This way you can tell how much was eaten throughout the day. Until I started doing this, the only indication they were eating was their poop. Don't feed stuff like Beneful. It's like feeding McDonald's to your children every day of their lives. I personally don't like Iams either. Also, I don't do the timed feeding if your yorkie doesn't eat because when I did this, Addie refused to eat and she had a hypoglycemic incident. That was so incredibly scary, I refused to take the recommendation from my vet that they have feeding times. None of mine gobble the food, they eat a bit here and there, and I've had no problems with them becoming overweight. |
