Nature's Balance Do anyone else's Yorkie dislike Nature's Balance? We think our 6-month-old male Yorkie may be allergic to chicken since he seems to itch whenever he eats it. We decided to remove chicken from his diet completely and purchase the Fish & Sweet Potato and he hates it! He won't eat it, even if he's starving. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they found a new chicken-free solution? Thanks! |
my dogs wouldnt eat it either.. none of the flavors they offer. You may want to try another flavor? |
Yea, too bad we bought 4 cans. I'm going to try to see if I can exchange. He usually has a great appetite, this stuff must really be bad. |
He might not like fish... or sweet potato. Chicken free foods are not so hard to find. Just some that come to mind are Wellness Simple Solution Lamb and rice/ Duck and rice, California Natural Lamb and rice and Natural Balance Venison and rice. Just read the ingredients on the back of any bag to make sure they are not putting in any chicken products even if chicken is not in the name of the food. |

Mine hate fish but lamb and turkey is offered in many lines.. |
Do you mean Natural Balance? My Maddie is allergic to corn and chicken as well. I purchase the Natural Balance Duck and Potato as it comes in a small bites kibble, she doesn't like a large kibble. I also purchase the Natural Balance food rolls. (They look like the breakfast sausage you can buy this is refrigerated that you can slice, like Jimmy Dean's or Owen's) I grate some of this on top and mix it in. It smells really good, kind of like salami. You can also use it in little pieces as treats. The only other flavor Natural Balance has in the small bites is their "Premium" but it has chicken in it. |
I just started mine on natural balance sweet potato and venison, so far she eats it just fine. I feed her the kibble. We did this because our maltese has allergies and we are trying to help him stop itching. |
Try the Lamb and Brown Rice formula. |
California Natural is coming out will a Grain Free Limited Ingredient Diet, that will be another option soon. It's going to be in 3 flavors to start, you should start seeing it in stores soon. |
