Just to let the OP know...the liquid I have recommended is not a baby shampoo. It is a holistic liquid soap for sensitive, dry, problem skin and hair. It works wonders on my Cerise and does not contain chemicals. I bathe her weekly (or every two weeks) depending on where we have been outdoors. |

I am Italian and I do put Olive Oil on everything. That's funny stuff. I use Dr. Fosters & Smith Advance Formula Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner. I'm a little weary about using Head & Shoulders on the little guy. The flaky skin is not even on his whole body it's on his sides from the middle of his back down. I may try the fish oil - that sounds like a good idea. |

If a dog only has dry skin and it is not caused by a fungus then feeding quality food, using dog shampoo and conditioner (for dry skin/hair) and putting a little oil in their food should help. If you believe your dog might have a fungus condition then check with your vet before you start using H&S. Yorkies also do not have hair like the majority of dogs and I don't always give them a bath every week, by two weeks they are starting to get a little greasy just like a human's hair..but I have long hair Yorkies. |
