Should i be worried. Ella's going in for DHP and rabies 1 year vac. (then after that no more rabies for 2 years and DHP still every 1 year) this Friday. I have ready horror stories about people's dogs having side effects and even dying from those vacs. She didn't act any diff. after she got all her puppy shots including DHP and rabies. Will that mean she won't have any side effects this time? Should i be freaking out like i am? |
The DHP and rabies should be split up. Vets tend to like to get you in and out quickly even if it's not best for the dog. The American Animal Hospital Association and other experts on vaccine related issues no longer believe that vaccinating with modified live viruses (MLV) like DHP is necessary yearly. It can cause some not-so-good things to happen. For the safety of your Yorkie, it would be best to research the whole issue before agreeing to anything. :) |

Some vets are still doing this stuff yearly and it is NOT REQUIRED only rabies is required by law and that is every 3 years and it depends on your county so call animal control to check your areas requirement don't just go by what the vet is saying when it comes to this ask what is required as each county is different in each state |
