Food .... I know this is another question that probably has been asked 100 times or better..but..again I just have to ask. As you all know I adopted Roxie 1 week ago...and I am in LOVE..lol..But anyways, the lady that had her had her eating Kibbles and bits..yuck..I know better than this, so I went shopping. Problem is, Roxie is BEYOND picky..Anyone have any suggestions for a good quality kibble that she would actually eat? The store owner suggested Royal Canin for Yorkies, but I am not sure I am sold on that. I could really use some help, what do you all feed your yorkies? Thanks a million!:animal-pa:animal-pa |
If you want to stick to dry food I recommend Merrick. You add warm water and instant gravy, Yummy(you don't have too). Love their wet food too. I also notice my girls like dry kibbles that have sweet potato in it. Good Luck!! |
Thanks for responding. I will look into it. Thanks again.=) |
HaHa..it has and you will get a 100 different answers..it is a tough decision and I think I have tried every kind out there..Without a lot of success until I got them on Blue Buffalo. Some of the very best mine would not eat...just walked away so I wish you luck...just make sure if you change foods that you slowly make the change and mix the two foods. Here is a website that might help you. The Dog Food Project - How does your Dog Food Brand compare? |
Thanks, I cannot wait to check out that website. I just want to make sure that whatever I decide to feed her is going to be healthy but that she is also going to like it. Thanks for all the replies. |
My boys are eating Acana right now. They love the Prairie best and then the Grasslands. |
One tip I got awhile ago is to make sure the first ingredient is for example chicken not chicken meat. Good Luck!! |
My boy has always been picky too. His faves are Nature's Variety Instinct and Acana Prairie Harvest. |
Go with Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice |
JMO, but i would not do the Royal Canin unless you cannot find anything else. I tried coral on that and noticed within a few days that she was itching alot, i think it was all the corn in it. ALso, if you look, all the ingredients are the same no matter which 'formula" you get. Mine like Tase of the Wild High Prairie |

My dog is extremely picky. I've found that he likes Fromm and EVO, but it was a long food to get there. As far as picking out a good food check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com |
I have had great success with FROMM for picky dogs... the surf and turf especially goes over well if your dog can tolerate high protein, the duck is also well liked... I am hoping to try mine on the chicken as soon as I can find it. There are lots of great foods out there... getting a yorkie to eat whats good for them is not so easy, :p |
We have used Innova, Wellness, Royal Canin, Merrick, but now we use Nature Variety and we also use NV Homestyle wet food. Our dogs are picky and get bored. What I like is they have different formulas and you rotate! This has worked the longest so far! |
