Stinky Butt!!! I don't even know how to start this thread off. From time to time (and lately more frequently) Neo has had a few drops of seemingly clear liquid come out of his butt. OMDG  the smell will knock a buzzard off a gut wagon! He gets his anal glands expressed every time he is groomed (every 4-5 weeks) and when he visits the vet.He was just groomed last Wednesday, but yesterday I took him with me to run errands and on the way home (thank God), he "leaked" on my jeans. I gagged all the way home and febrezed the interior of truck when I got there. About an hour later my DH picked Neo up to love on him and he did it again! PLEASE can somebody help? |
Def. sounds like anal glands to me... hmm.. that's odd it's happening so much. I would probably have the vet take a look. Sometimes there can be issues down there that need fixed! What kind of food does he eat? How many times a day does he poop? I know how god awful it smells... Jackson got his nails clipped @ Petsmart once and was so scared he expressed his anal glands, omg, it smelled sooo bad! I came home, put him in the tub and scrubbed his whole butt off with dawn dishwashing soap, ha! |
anal glands Sounds like your baby may have an infection. Dog Anal Glands - LoveToKnow Dogs I hope you find out whats wrong. please let us know when you find out! |
It sounds like an anal gland infection to me. Also, I would recommend that anyone with a yorkie having anal gland issues should have it done only by a vet. Someone who thinks they know what they are doing, but doesn't, can damage the anal glands or not get them completely emptied which can lead to an infection. |
Yeah, and they can self-express in a moment of fear or exitement, too. So keep your little one calm if you can. Drippy glands was listed on the report when I adopted Tink, they said they should be expressed twice weekly. We got her home and never had a problem! Then I looked on her history sheet and found she had lived with a family that had 4 young children. And by the way Tink wanted to play constantly, I figured out what went on. I think she was getting literally exhausted and would just lose control. She's good now though, Thank God! |
