Bump from shots/Good vet in MA? Hello, Milo got his 3rd puppy shots and his rabies vac last weekend. I was just petting him and noticed that he has a small bump (bigger than the size of a pencil eraser....maybe smaller than a chewed up piece of gum....sorry hard to describe the size) on his back. I am pretty sure this is the area that the shot was given. Is this a normal reaction? He was a little lethargic the day of the shots, but fine the next day. On another note, I am looking for a good vet in the boston/brookline area. The vet we have been going to (abington)...I just don't like her. I didnt want Milo to have 2 shots in one day but she insisted because rabies, of course, is required by law...but I think we could have waited a bit longer. Also, she said he would be intebated (spelling is wrong Im sure) when he gets fixed, which I thought was not good for smaller dogs... but maybe Im wrong. (The vet also accidently killed my bf's cousin's pet mouse) Thanks for your help, sorry so long. Chandra and Milo |
I do believe this is a common reaction to the injection site. It's good to read that Milo only felt icky a day or so and is back to his normal self. I am not in your area so am unable to offer any advise regarding vets, but hopefully other members in the surrounding areas can help out. |
