Benedryl Okay, I called my vet about her itch problem (licking her paws and scratching) She scratches sooo hard. Anyway, she said to give Hannah 1/4 of a tsp off benedryl. Call me silly, but how am i supposed to measure this out? |
You can buy little measuring spoons. OR....ask the vet for a syringe to use .. ask how many ml to give. |
I do just that...measure the amount and somehow get it to Ellie's mouth. But you can convert to cc (ml) and give it by syringe (much easier). There are 5ml in 1 teaspoon. So you would give 1.25ml. |
I give Zeus the benadryl tablets. He is 7lbs. so my vet said the perfect dosage is half a tablet. I just break it in half. I find the tablets easier to give. |
More questions How often do you give it? How long does the dog have to take before you see results? Have you personally seen results? I am so anxious. I hate to see her so itchy/scratchy. I have no problem giving Hannah the liquid kind. Previously she has licked on one paw until it became quite red. What can I put on her paw to help it heal? |
So you give liquid? Nala had some pretty bad reverse sneezing last summer and fall (totally fine in the winter) so the vet said if it became an issue we could use benadryl. What is easier to give, liquid or tablet? |

So, if the benedryl doesn't work........ What else can I try? |

I consulted with my vet on all this before doing so and recommend you ask about dosage. |
