Roxy had an engored tick embedded in her paw-leg last spring. It had to have been there for a full day, maybe even two...By the time I got it out, it was huge, and there was a huge hole and huge bump. Took her to the Vet and she was put on antib's, the Vet said I REALLY need to apply the Frontline. I voiced my concerns, and he said he understands, but from his side - seeing the diseases first hand, that they are far worse than the product.

After 1 week, Roxy was not getting better and had to go on a stronger antib. Thankful she didn't catch a disease.

My area is VERY tick ridden, so I won't be taking any more chances....

I use Interceptor too. :)
Oh and the company sprayed up by the house. Toward the road wasn't sprayed at all, so we would carry her for the first couple days over the sprayed part.

Fipronil (Frontline) does not expire if kept according to package directions. :)

Poor Roxy! I'm glad you found the tick and that things didn't turn out a lot worse.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Decisions, decisions. I'll probably break down and put the Frontline on my guys.

I used Petsmarts brand the last month and it bugged him so bad I had to give him a bath. Poor guy. Won't do that again. I used frontline the first time and he didn't care too much.

Good to know!

I usually keep my guys on pavement (we don't have sidewalks), but their other caretaker (grandpa) lets them go off-roading a little bit during walks.

I've heard of several pups that had bad reactions to certain products. Glad the Frontline worked for you.

Today we found a great park to visit regularly...full of grass and woods and critters...so, looks like we will be using the Frontline for protection. :animal-pa
