She may have a stomach ache. Call your vet. Good luck! |
:) hiya , i think they eat grass if they have an upset tummy :) just give your vet a call to put your mind at rest , :) hope you get it sorted out ;) take care love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
For the past 2 weeks everytime i take Sam out to potty all he wants to do is eat the grass. I read that some dogs just like it. He eats his food without a problem so it's not like he has an upset stomach or anythign and he acts normal. he just likes to eat grass. I don't encourage it and i try to stop him because if he doesn't chew really well then he will throw it up. i'm going to go to the pet store and see if they sell doggy grass like they sell cat grass or if dogs can eat cat grass...at least i will know that is better for him and more digestable. also i rean that sometimes they crave the fiber in the grass. |
Dogs will intuitively eat grass if they have a stomachache or ate something they need to throw up. That being said, whenever mine find new grass or it's the beginning of Spring they like to have a little snack. You might want to call your vet to put your mind at ease, are there any other symptoms? |
Ever since Spring and new fresh grass, Jackson has been crazy about it! I try to stop it because he's eaten grass in the past to throw up but that's when I knew he was sick. He's clearly not sick now and I think he's just eating it cuz it tastes good and is new. He's so weird! LOL. He was almost obsessed with it the other day, he was by himself with me and we were trying to play frisbee but he was so concerned with eating grass. I'm thinking it's just because it's new and fresh... who knows! He's still eating all food and treats normally. He doesn't do it when other dogs are around. It almost seems like a nervous habit in a way. |
