Probiotics help.....
 
I purchased some probiotics for Moose and Mimi. Nature's Farmacy - Store - Product Details

I received it last Wednesday and put some on their dinner Thursday night. Probably within a hour Moose threw up his dinner! :(

Friday night within a couple of hours after them eating (with the probiotics on their kibble) Mimi threw up her dinner! :(

Now this am about 4:00 Mimi woke up and threw up. :( I cleaned up everything and we went back to bed.

Then, when we got up about 7:00 and Moose ran out side and was throwing up! :(:(

This has to related to the probiotics, I think! :confused:

Has anyone had this problem?

Wow, probiotics are supposed to have the opposite effect. I'd stop them for a bit and see what happens- might want to ask your vet about them- or the company. Perhaps they have gone bad (Can probiotics go bad?)

I was wondering if they could go bad too~ :confused:
There is NO "use before date" on the jar. :p
Also, I have already e-mailed the company this am and I won't be putting
it on their food tonight. ;)

yikes, i do believe probiotics do go bad and there should be a best before date on them- Layla's has one.

perhaps they were unrefrigerated for too long?

UNREFRIGERATED?? :eek: Mine are a powder and I DON'T HAVE THEM IN THRE FRIDGE!! :eek::eek: I am going now to look at the container again. :(

nope but i do not mix digestive enzymes with probiotics and that is what is going on with this product

probiotics are to be given 20-30 before food first thing in am - i have used dds plus from vitamin shoppe with great success for years

digestive enzymes are to be used on cooked or processed foods not for dogs eating raw as raw has natural enzymes so no need to do it with raw feeding - you put this on the food to help digest the food

i do not like mixing stuff that is designed to be done separately and i have always been told to to probiotics before am meal and enzymes on the food by nutritionists

not sure but this could be the problem if this just started since taking this

Well...there is NOT a "use by date" and it says to store is a cool dry place.

some probiotics are refridgerated but encapsulated ones are not and many dog probiotics are not refridgerated but the ones i give are refridgerated once i get them

Yes probiotics can go bad and they usualy say that you should refigerate them. That is how it is with the human grade I am unfamiliar with the pets, I would think it would be the same. Whenever they ship my probiotics they always ship it with a cold pak.

ok so the fact that the company said for raw diet i would return it lollll as you do not need enzymes for dogs on raw diets

yeah i prefer human to pet products as i think alot more research is done on them

Probiotics are given in the am 20 to 30 mins before eating!~ YIKES....as so as I get out of bed, Mimi thinks she has to eat right then right now! :p

I am confused about the statement in red... Mine are on kibble (not raw) so it should be ok to use on their kibble?

yeah but they are mixing two things and btw my dd is crazy about food too but she has to wait and she knows the kitchen timer real well now lolllll Get this dd gets soloxine waits an hour gets probiotics waits 20 min then eats lolll so tell Mimi to chill lol

they are mixing enzymes with probiotics two different things and not good in my opinion

I agree- you don't need the digestive enzymes.

Probiotic For Dogs and Cats

These are what I give Layla. They are shipped the next day so that they are not out of the fridge for too long. She gets 1/2 a capsule a day- hwoever I usually only do about 1 week per month as a naturopath that I went to said you don't need probiotics every day of the year- but that is just a personal decision i've made.

If i were you i'd be sending those back and look for something that need to be put in the fridge.
