Poop This is the second time Mr. Rocky has pooped and when I came in the room it appeared he may have eaten some I can't be sure but I small crumbs near and normally there are no small crumbs Help !!!!!!!! |
Yeah that is not good. I think I read somewhere that you can add something to their diet that makes their poop offensive to eat. Not that is it appealing to eat in the first place. |

Yep... Mr. Rocky's eating poop... ;) My Maddie will do this as well. She is trained to go outside and hasn't had an accident in quite a while (knocks on wood). However, when she would poop in the house she would eat part of it. I swear it was like she was trying to hide the evidence or as if she knew it was wrong. Like you, I would only find little "crumbles". I know what they say that dogs don't know, but I swear.. they KNOW! She never pays any attention to her poop when she goes outside. She potties in an x-pen, but sometimes when we are just out and about in the back yard she might poop and never even goes back to it to. Even on walks, she might smell poop before I see her going to it, but she has never tried to eat hers or anyone else's poop outside. |
Awwww, he's just being nice and cleaning up after himself. :D |
I once saw something on this on It's Me Or The Dog. Victoria Stillwell said that the dog featured on that episode was eating its poop because he ate his food so quickly and went poop so fast that the food didn't have time to fully digest and the dog still smelled the nutrients in the food. I know it sounds strange  ....I think she recommended smaller portions at a time. This was lab though. |
Poop :animal36Every once in a while my girl does the same thing (yuck) I got a product called Deter at Pet Smart and works like a charm. I giver her one tablet a day and she quits! Don't know why they do it, or why the product works, just glad I found it! Good Luck |
My roommates westie used to eat his poop too. The vet had him change his food and after a little while he just stopped. That was like seven years ago and he hasn't done it since. Now ... the litter box ... Oy vey! That's a WHOLE different story. However, he's been staying away from it for the last few months. I hope Lucy never gets curious about the litter box. Ugh. Horrible!!! :heart toKandi |
