Im so happy that Jcrew surgery went well. I hope he start favoring his leg soon. TY for the update.

It cost around $1,200. But it is worth it!!!

Thanks for the info and mostly for the prayers. Keep the updates coming. After his surgery Thursday I'll let you know how he does.

Schatzie's surgery was appx $450.00

Never seen this in a dog, but my son was dx with it.

When I was told that Schatzie was diagnosed with LP I came home and did some research on it. I read that LP is very common in teenage children especially girls.

He was dx whenhe was 5. The doc told us it was commn in boys. Anhow, since we found out early, all he needed was therapy and he eventually grew back the "ball" in his hip joint.( It's when there is not enough blood circulation in the hip causing the ball of the hip to deteriorate.) Today he is 15 and doing great. Some aching now and then in the hip but that is the worst of it. Thank you for your concern.

It is treated surgically by removing the head of the femur and letting the muscles form a "false joint." It really does work. The dogs recuperate very well from surgery.
