Help does Not Chew Kibbles I got new food Orijen Red Regional and Polo loves it. But he is eating way too fast he can devour a bowl in 44 seconds not even chewing just swallowing the kibbles whole. Sometimes he will throw up everything that he ate:eek: I need some help on what to do? I know this is not good for his stomach:thumbdown Thanks |
My 4 month old doesn't chew either; I've heard this is normal. To slow them down, put a ball in the kibble, it will force them to maneuver around it, causing them to slow down. You could also feed in small batches, giving only a little at a time during the duration of a few minutes. This is what I do. |

I feed him two to three times a day. It depends if he does agility in the house or if he walks 2 miles then I feed him more. |
You can put a ball in the dish or stones that are too big for him to swallow. The other day at PetSmart, I noticed that they actually have a bowl that slows the eating frenzy down. It has a large raised area in the center of the dish, like an X, so they can only pick up one or two kibbles at a time. |
