Parvo so we had some plumbing probs at our house and the plumber came out wednesday and today then proceeds to tell me after my dogs are sniffing them that his new puppy was in the hospital tues and wed with PARVO  so I guess i will get to see if TITERS work since my dogs are all titered as vet says incubation period is 5-7 days so i will let you know how that works out since he did not take off his shoes coming into my home and let my dogs sniff him - UNBELIEVEABLE - His rottweiler pup is from Michigan |

Oh gosh, I'd be so nervous! I know we have had a parvo problem in MI, but I haven't heard/read much lately. But then again, it is assumed that most of this stuff dies in the winter here which isn't always true. I have heard that quite a few dogs were testing heartworm positive when owners stopped the preventative in the winter. Now tons of vets strongly suggest doing preventatives year-round because not everything dies off... And I'd trust the titers since they're high, but even vaccinated dogs can get it (different strains), so... :( |
I am really hoping vet misdiagnosed his puppy lolllllll but probably will not get that lucky :( |

just want to be clear he did not bring pup to house so how contagious is it on his clothes and shoes is my biggest concern - he came to my house at 1:00 today and wednesday at 11:00 and his dog was in hospital on tuesday My dee dee is a floor licker too gotta love that girl she is my biggest concern since she has a poor immune system since she is on temarilp and she is hypothyroid |

Wow, sorry to hear that. I hope your babies didn't catch anything. I'll keep my fingers cross for you. |
i just called his vet as i asked who it was and they said the pup was in at the beginning stages of it and doing just fine and not to stress too much as they are good owners and did everything for their dog and i said well did you tell him to take his shoes off use bleach wipes as he is going into peoples homes all day with dogs like mine and he did not do that in my home and they said that is the owners responsibility and i said well did you explain how contagious it is to him since he is in peoples HOMES with dogs ;( she said she is not sure - UNBELIEVEABLE |
Very sorry that you are going through this. I am sending positive thoughts that your babies will be alright! Peace... |
so called specialty hospital and they said do not stress as mine are over 6 mos and they see mostly in 6 mos or younger and dd would be of only one with concern but since all were vaccinated not to worry as virus has not changed and why they still use the same vaccine so praying all will be cool |
I just saw this! I am so sorry that this happening to you and your pups. I would be a mess. But then you never know. He might have work boots that he has been keeping in the car so as not to contaminate other houses and animals. Will keep both you and your pups in my thoughts and prayers. |

Just curious - is a clorox wipe enough or do you need a cloth soaked in bleach? I've never experienced parvo, but I thought straight bleach was needed? |
