Yorkie throwing up white foam during night
 
We woke up to our Pinky throwing up white foam... she threw up 2 spots (about 1 inches) and then she was better for a bit and went to lay in her bed... 2 hours later again....

she ate at 6pm, now its 4:45AM ... she first threw up at 2:30am ish...

anyone know why? what is cause, and how to help her get better?

You didn't say how old your baby is but are you sure she ate a pretty good amount before bed? When Belle doesn't eat enough for she sleeps late and is really hungry she throws us a little foamy bile. She doesn't want to eat for awhile then but once she does she is fine. She's been doing this since we got her. I think their blood sugar drops and they get nausea. That happens to me too when I get hungry and my blood sugar is low as I have diabetes. I give Belle a few Cheerios and let her tummy set, then feed her regualr food.

Yes, it is because her stomach is empty. Layla used to do this- I give her a snack right before bed to keep her blood sugar up throughout the night and then a snack again right when she gets up.

white foam is when they have totally emptied out there stomach after all the yellow bile is gone

Agree she needs more frequent meals and one to hold her over night. If she is eating enough than I would have the vet check her out.

yes, she needs a light snack before bed. I give my Prada a bit of wet food or a few kibbles before I put her in her crib for the night. Prada suffers from colitis, so i have to be careful what she eats.

Thanks for the responses, it is the food it seems. Her mommy fed her some snack and she got better right away.

We are going to give her a light snack at 11pm when she goes to sleep, and also put some food out so she can eat during the night if need be. Will update how it goes :)
