Why is my boy not eating? We drove up to Tennessee on Thursday. It was a long drive....14 hours. That night when we arrived, Max had no interest in eating. I thought he may have been stressed and would come around in the morning. Each feeding while we were there he took a few bites of his food, nothing like what a meal should be. We came home today after another 13 hour drive, and he still doesn't want to eat. I thought that being home in a familiar place would help. He is peeing and pooping. Anyone have this happen or think this is normal? Any suggestions? |
When traveling with my girls i would find them both to eat little to nothing for the first three days. I couldn't even get them to lick on nutrical. Because I lived this this experience with them about ten times I would contribute their wierd behavior to stress. When I brought them back chopped steak and veggies their appetite "re-appered".I guess if I traveled in a carry on bag for a flight or sat in a car for a billion hours (dog years of course) without explanation I would freak too. Know when we travel they like little princesses. |

We drove from Knoxville to Detroit with Nick - he was about 9 months. We stayed a week in MI. He didn't hardley eat anything but it didn't seem to affect him. He was still playing and pooping. I just left his food out and available at all times - he munched but not much at all. It took a few days after we got home for him to get back to his normal self - but it happened. I would just leave the food out and let him eat when he is ready. I've always been a free-feeder, though. It seems to work for us. |
Ok, thanks everyone. Max's appetite is coming around. Thank goodness it wasn't anything more than stress. |
