Sampling Dog Food The Dog Food Analysis is the impetus for my considering to change Katie's food. I never knew that Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 is not a high quality product. As suggested in another thread, I contacted the companies listed in the 5 and 6 star ratings categories to obtain samples of their products. I am waiting for the samples from those companies who have them available. For those companies that do not offer samples, I can order Free Samples (10 max.) for shipping and handling only. (Last selection in Browse Product Categories on far left.) I'll have all these different foods and understand that when changing foods you offer a little at a time with the original food. So now what? How do you think I should approach this? BTW, Happy Valentine's Day! ♥♥♥♥ |
When I had a bunch of samples, I just set them all out in a row, and took notes of which ones were gone first. (I also mixed up the order everyday :p). I know there was no slow transition, but my baby doesn't have a sensitive tummy, so I didn't have a problem. I always make a transition when rotating foods, but for the samples I just left them out. You'll just have to know your dog. You can mix each one in slowly and see which ones she picks out. You can usually tell which ones they're most crazy about. :D Hope that helps. :) |
