Converting to Buffalo Blue... So I got the adult BB-small breed for Gracie and we are converting her over. She loves it. Still mixing in some of the RC puppy formula. I wanted to go ahead and switch Bristol to the BB puppy formula. I actually picked some up this weekend. It is in the blue bag (chicken and brown rice). When we opened it I noticed that the chunks are bigger than the adult! I thought what the heck? So I go on line and search and find that there is a BB small breed puppy in a pink bag (chicken and oatmeal)! Ugh! My son works out of town so I PRINT him the pic and ask him to pick it up for me. We don't have it available here in the middle of nowhere. Well he comes home with the pink bag-the small breed ADULT that I already have for Gracie. I found out the small breed puppy in the pink bag is new. So when you all fed your baby Blue puppy was it the one in the blue bag? Maybe the chunks aren't as big as I think. Bristol just seems to struggle with them a little. |
i have feed the blue bag(chicken)...and now on the red bag(fish)....dunno what the size difference between the pink bag and these are but mine seems fine with the blue and red bag.... |
I had Sasha on BB once and I found that she actually preferred the bigger pieces over the smaller ones. She's always been this way though. She would eat the smaller pieces from the small breed bag, but not with the same enthusiasm as the big ones. |

i recently had to switch lulu from wellness to bb. i buy the blue bag. she loves it and does wonderfully on it. |
I'm thinking about switching Wookie to this food as well. RC only comes in 3 lb or 20lb bags and it runs out too quickly. Also gives him stinky breath pew! Let me know if it does better than RC! |

It also smells good and doesn't give bad breath at all. |
search for the newer bags... they say "new smaller kibbles" I just started seeing them at a month or two ago. We have been using BB for a while :D |
My baby loves this---but, spits out every single vitamin! Every time she eats there is a pile of rejected vitamins sitting next to her bowl! sheesh! |

Bristol will eat them-they just seem big for her little mouth. I would really like to find the puppy chicken and OATMEAL with the smaller bites. Oh, and we are lucky here my girls don't have a problem with the vitamins! They will even eat them out of your hand! |

My girls were picky too but they LOVED Royal Canine! In the beginning we tried Wellness and it was a no go. Gracie is 10 months and she is eating the adult Blue. I suppose that if they need the extra calories at 10 months I would probably still feed the puppy. Gracie loves to eat now and does not need the extra calories so we decided to put her on the adult. She is not fat by any means-no belly but that girl is meaty if yo know what I mean-solid! Bristol is only 3 1/2 months so she is on the puppy. Good luck! I don't know wht it is like to have a puny one! |

I just switched my kids over to the Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown Rice Small Breed. It comes in a pink bag and so far they seem to really like it. |
That is the adult? Correct? Gracie Belle is eating that. I was looking for the Puppy small breed but since it is new I haven't found it. Bristol is eating the Blue puppy in the blue bag but she had really soft stools today which is totally out of character for her. :( The only "vitamins" that my girls get right now are the Lifesource bits in the Blue Buffalo food. |
All of PetSmart just did a huge overhaul of their food sections. They now carry all brands of Blue Buffalo, including Small Breed Puppy and Adult. We also carry the organic version of Blue and Wilderness. We also carry Organix. I'm excited!!! :) |

I have been feeding my Yorkie BB since I got him home. I tried out the puppy small bag with the lamb flavour and it's very small kibbles. Then when it ran out I bought the biggest bag of chicken and rice flavour since he loves it so much and it turned out, the kibble is so much bigger than the lamb flavour. My puppy is fine with it though. I think he likes it big so he can chew it. I also supplement with the puppy canned food from Wellness every once in a while with BB. He would eat it so fast he never gets enough of it. The best part is that he doesn't get bad breath so I don't think I'll ever switch from BB :) |
