The best chew toy? Hello all, I'm finally bringing my new baby home on the 23rd... I'm so excited!!! Being as she will be my first dog, I had some concerns about biting and chewing: she's 6 months old and the breeder is having her spayed next week before I get her (I know that helps a little bit) but I wanted to know if anyone could reccomend a great chew toy and any tips to help with biting and chewing? Thanks! :p |
Hey there, had to go back to my posts to make sure it was you, did you not get the pup we were talking about back before xmas? you were to get that one in a couple weeks...is everything ok? just wondering why so long... I can't imagine missing out from 12 weeks till 24 weeks the bonding we have done with axel? We had axel neutered already went well! he is doing great! almost potty trained. The chew toys we get are from petsmart the kong toys with the little squeekers and the real hard like human bones (gross) but he still has the first one. His favorite are empty water bottles loves them. Are you training inside our outside? we choose inside and working for the most part. ps what is the pup weight now? |

Oh, BTW... I think she's in the 4 lb range (I haven't asked the breeder in a few weeks). |

I recommend you contact Ryan (RDB911) and order some Himalayan Chews. He has the best prices! They are great & long lasting! |
Kongs are great! Sandy (he's turning 6 months old in 2 weeks) loves his Kong Dental Stick. I always stuff peanut butter and his treats. It's good for the teeth. |
My puppy isn't here yet, but I bought him a small bully stick. I read in Cesar Millan's puppy book that he recommends them because they can be used for training purposes and are easily digested....we will see. |
Daisy's favorite toy to chew on is a rope with the ends knotted and fringe hanging out......I think I bought hers at PetsMart. There's something about the give of the fibers that she seems to prefer to a hard chew like a bully stick..... Best wishes with your new puppy! |
2 Attachment(s) my dogs love their bones and bullie sticks! also a kong is a good distraction when i first got my yorkie she loved to chew on my fingers when i held her! so to discourage her i got a chew toy that had the same shape. it really helped with her teething! she was in love with it and so was my brothers chocolate lab! eventually they got older and destroyed it, he is 85lbs and kona thinks she is bigger ;) we did get to recently revive the toy! my brother rescued a pitmix so i went and got him one (: i put a pic of the puppy chewing on it and one i googled...definitely a hit in my house! not sure why lol! i think i got it at petsmart, but you can probably get it at any pet store, petstages mini barbelle chew (: |

Roxie LOVES her nylon KONG Wubba...it's her favorite toy. They come in all different sizes and colors, including small ones for puppies and for small breeds. It's virtually indestructable. She chews on in all the time and it has not one sign of wear. |
