Frontline I have two yorkies, one is 5 pounds and the other is 3 pounds. They won't grow bigger than 6 lbs. I am wondering if I can use one tube of the frontline application on both of them. The tube is 0-22lbs (orange box) and they are around 8 lbs together so can I use one for two? Also, I just bought 2 years supply of frontline for my babies. Is there an expiration date for these meds? Does the med work well because I am planning on taking them camping during the summer. Thanks! |
The company would tell you not to split the dose, but some vets don't have a problem with it. Personally, with your dogs weights, I wouldn't have a problem splitting it. It works well for some and not for others. It is possible that fleas in certain areas are becoming immune to it. Frontline does not expire if it is kept in the conditions stated on the box. |
I split my Frontline. 1cc per 20lbs is what my vet tells me. So I break that down according to weight of all mine. |
I split mine last year and it worked great. But then again we do not camp with them so they haven't been as exposed to ticks.Just do a "search" on this site and find out the dosages.I can look it up if you can't find it,but I just got out of a cast and have to limit my walking on my feet time. |
my vet has me split it. saves alot that way too!:D |

she gave me a syringe (spelling?) and told me the dosage to use for maddie and then my other dogs according to weight ( i just remove the needle when i have the amount i need and put it on them)--you would just need to see what amount your vet recommends for your size pups |
Sounds like a great idea!! It amazes me how expensive Frontline is compared to heartworm preventative, when the heartworm seems so much more important lol. |
