Eye problems? Help please? 1 Attachment(s) My mom's yorkie is maybe 7-9 years old, and has a gray/white spot on her eye, and right below that a little red spot. And just around the general area it's reddened. She keeps blinking and squinting, so I know it's bothering her. It looks like it may be swollen also. I'm worrying sick over it and it's 5 AM and I can't do anything about it just yet. I plan on getting her to the vet when I can, I am just waiting for my mother to wake up so I can tell her and have her take me. I'll include a picture, if you've had similar problems or any idea what this could be, please please, let me know ASAP. |
All tho I'm not a vet, i am an optician so I know alittle about eyes and this does NOT look good....Get her to a vet ASAP....It could be many things but I can't tell for sure that she has an infection...Every time you touch her make sure to wash your hands...I'm sorry your baby is not feeling good...Please keep us posted!!! |
yorkies are prone to ulcers as they can have dry eye and due to age of yorkie this could be ulcer from dry eye - eyes are nothing to mess with - i prefer opthamologist but at minimum a vet ASAP |
Feeling How is your mom's furbaby feeling? Was it an ulcer? My Gizmo has ulcer on his eye...not fun. |

Also it is very painful :( |
So sorry I haven't let you know I took our baby to the vet, and they said it looked like she had an injury on the surface of her eye, but thought it had actually been there longer, but was hidden under her eye lid. He thinks the milky/cloudy whiteness is due to the process of healing, along with the general redness around the eye. He prescribed her eye drops, 4 times a day to help with discomfort. He said the milky coloration may not go away, but it won't affect her vision at all. The very next morning after taking her to the vet, her eye looked so much better! I'm so happy. Thank you to all who posted. Good luck with your babies, and may they live a long, healthy, and loving life. :)!! |
