Vet recommendation for spay in the San Jose area? Hi everyone; I'm getting my one-year old Yorkie spayed soon, but I don't want to just pick a vet out of the yellow pages or Google and thought some of you might be able to recommend a good vet for the surgery. Big event for puppy and I don't want to risk it... you guys know what I mean. Especially since she's so small. Anyway, if anyone has any vet recommendations, please let me know. Greatly appreciated, everybody. And if you've got any post-op tips, I can use all the help I can get. Thanks again. |
just a follow-up, puppy went to the vet several months ago for shots, physical, etc, but I didn't take her to the appointment so I can't vouch for the vet, and a spay surgery is different than a routine physical, if that makes sense.. |
Rio had her spay surgery at Irvington Pet Hospital in Fremont, CA - by Dr. Rue. She was only 2.8 lbs at 8 months old, and I was a nervous wreck. I opted for the pre-anesthesia blood work, post op pain meds etc... Rio came through with flying colors and is completely healed. I would totally trust Dr. Rue for all of Rio's veterinary needs. BTW, there are two Dr. Rue's in Fremont - they are husband and wife and have separate practices. I went to the FEMALE Dr. Rue at Irvington Pet Hospital. It's a private vet hospital - pricey but well worth it. |
Thanks! I'll give them a call. |
