Dry kibble mixes I would like some good and healthy ideas on what to mix into dry kibble to make it taste better. Something besides water or canned food. |
I add boiled chicken breast and veggies. I boil 1 family pkg of boneless chicken breasts, usually about 5-7 pieces per pkg, every two weeks keeping them frozen. About every other day I take 1 out of the freezer and leave in the refrigerator. It thaws overnight. I use frozen veggies, peas & carrots and green beans and put them in the microwave for 3mins. I add the chicken in the am feeding and chicken and veggies in the pm feeding. You can also add some brown rice, not much and or low sodium chicken broth to moisten the dry kibble as long as your dog has no problems with eating chicken. Some have allergies to it. I have used plain yogurt and chicken baby food, I think you also use chicken broth, but I think it has to be salt free? Like the poster said above you can add fresh veggie, rice and chicken. |

There is a supplement called NUPRO (not to confused with nutro the food) that is excellent. It is a powder and you mix a tiny scoop (about half a teaspoon) with a little warm water and it makes a gravy that you can mix with kibble. I add cottage cheese to his food. Also have added chicken broth in the past. |
I use frozen or fresh veggies depending on the season my two love green beans, sugar snap peas , carrotts and that is what they also get as treats. I also give them boiled chicken about once a week as a treet. I have never tried cottage cheese, I wonder what kind to get? |
