Green Tripe Raw |
I've not purchased from this seller but have used green tripe before. It was dehydrated and purchased at a dog show. It's good stuff (my dogs loved it), if you can get past the smell! |
I've never personally ordered from Green Tripe but I know of some members on other raw feeding forums who have. It sounds like a great company! Are you currently feeding raw or do you want to switch to raw? |
Currently feeding Raw - NV to be exact. No particular motivation to switch, I was told of this firm, looked at the site and thought it seemed interesting. Was curious of other opinions / insight |

Like I said, I have never personally ordered from them, mainly because we didn't have the room to store it all before (there's a 20lb min. order). We do have a deep freezer for the dogs' food now but I haven't gotten around to placing an order. My only concern is that I haven't verified that their products are 100% balanced. Prey-model raw feeders have to balance meat/bone/organ so I'd like to do some more research on how much of what is in each of their blends. From the testimonials it seems like their food can be fed alone so it more than likely is balanced. You should definitely check it out! I will give you some warning on the green tripe.... it is the smelliest thing I have ever come in contact with. It almost knocks me off my feet every time we feed it... which is probably why we don't feed it that often! :D |
You can also get green tripe in cans.. Tripett makes tripe in (beef, Venison, and Lamb) Merrick Before Grain makes it in a can (but it's a little more soupy) then tripett, but some people like it cause it coats kibble better as a mixer. |
Yep, tripe is stinky, beef is the worst, then venison, lamb is not bad considering the others. My 2 FB who were typical picky eaters now attack there food with the same vigor that my Rottie and Huskey do. I just mush up about a good sized tsp in a bowl, mix their food (Origen Puppy mixed with Wellness to lower the protein a bit) in and stir so it is nicely coated and split that between them. It is gone in no time and they don't seem to tire of it. It is also a great source of healthy enzmes and gastro benefits. I use the Tripett. |
I feed the tripett to Duke. He loves it, but boy does it smell! |
A must for raw fed dogs, I hear GreenTripe.com is featured on several yahoogroups dedicated to raw feeding. Emily, Sophie, and Xena will be getting an order soon. I hear it's the rankiest stench but dogs love it. I'm excited for Emily and her first litter, I've heard countless testimonials on the healthy outcomes of puppies whose mother was switched to Raw Meaty Bones and tripe. I also hear it cleans teeth so there's no need for expensive dental bills. Worth the try but not the smell. |
