Cheerio treats.... Tatum's primary potty treat is plain Cheerios. I know she really likes these and I do too because of the "easy" aspect and the cost. But I think sometimes she gets bored with them. Would honey nut cheerios be too much sugar, do you think?? She managed to snatch up some Cap'n Crunch pieces that I dropped the other day when refilling the cereal container and she really thought she'd hit the jackpot but I'm pretty sure those aren't the wisest choice. :D |
honey nut cheerios have 9 grams of sugar where as plain cheerios have 1 grain of sugar. so i dunno? i dont have a dog yet, so i'm not much help. sorry. |
I think I remember reading on here at some point that a few people did use honey nut instead of the original. I guess because of preference? I don't know. I don't think there would be a big problem with switching it up a bit... unless you are giving her a cup or so a day lol But I think as treats, it would be fine... but I am not a nutritionist. So don't take my word on it... that's just opinion. ;) |
Cheerio users: how many do you typically give your pup each day? I haven't used them yet because I was concerned about the sugar content. Maximo doesn't have any allergies, but I was wondering if any of the ingredients would disagree with more sensitive pups. |

Plain Cheerios are pretty bland so I'm not sure if they would aggravate any allergies.... but of course it depends on what the pup is allergic to I suppose. Tatum usually gets 2 Cheerios when she comes in from pottying and sometimes she gets a few just to do tricks. She loves for me to throw them up in the air and she jumps to catch them. She also likes to chase them.... I slide them fast across the floor and she runs after them. I would say on average she gets up to 10 a day maybe. |

You know, you may be right about the honey.... we'll see what others have to say. I do know that it's dangerous to human babies under 1 year old. |
