Is my fur baby too skinny My fur baby is 15 months old. He wants to eat all the time. He is always hungry. I think he is at the right weight, but I don't know. He is a teapot baby, but I still love him. His name is Willie. He is 11 inches from floor to sholders, and 15 inches long. He weighs 11 lbs, does that sound right? I have never had a Yorkie before, so I don't know what is right. The vet never says anything, and I forget to ask. Can someone help me with this? He also shakes all over, if it has been too long between meals, so I feed him 3 times a day, plus a snack before bedtime. I will be so happy if someone can help me here. Thanks Patches and Willie  |
Is your fur baby a yorkie? 11lbs for a yorkie isn't skinny I wouldn't think. what is a teapot baby? |
11 pounds!? wow! He would squish my Yorkie! That is a larger size Yorkie. My aunt has one that's 15 pounds, but he IS fat. Lol! I agree what's a teapot Yorkie?? |
Can you post a picture? I am sure he is fine. some Yorkies are bigger than others. |
To those who don't know, a teapot yorkie is a bigger yorkie. It's a play on the reference to tiny yorkies being "teacups.":D |
I was thinking that you say he shakes all over and is hungry all the time. Have you had him checked for parasites? Also if he has a bloated belly I would def. have him checked. When was his last physical? |
Is it just me...or is this post supposed to be in the :rip: section:confused: |

Sorry, I thought I was posting a new thread, I have never did this before, Yes, he is a bigger yorkie, but he is not fat, I can feel his ribs and his backbone, he just had an A+ check up, but the Vet was in a big hurry and didn't answer my question. He only shakes until I feed him, then he is fine. Thanks for all the replies, I am sorry again that I got the wrong thread. |
What food are you feeding him? "Grocery store" food can cause them to gain weight and not give them sufficient nutritional value. That might be why he's so hungry if everything else checked out great in his check-up. |
