recovery time for spay/neuter How much recovery time is needed for a 12 wk old puppy? Can you do it any sooner? How long do the stitches stay in? Any info would help Thanks in advance,Carmen |
Zeke got neutered last thursday, he is six months. The first day was a little tough for him but the vet sent him home with pain meds and he slept all day. And on the second day he was back to normal, we even had to calm him down because he was running around everywhere. He did not have any stitches since it was done by laser and is not as invasive (glue was used to adhere the skin). Good luck! :) |
my Yorkie Jack was 6 months when I had him neutered and the first day he was a bit groggy he got a pain killer shot before coming home, the second day he was back to normal, he got stiches and they were removed after 10 days. |
When we spayed Nadia she was a year and we had to slow her down. The girls that were over two took a day or so to feel better...never had it done to a pup that young though. |
neutering dont usually happen until they are around 5-6 months and chester was slow one day and fine the next, Im not sure when the recommended time is for spaying but you have a little while yet |
