Thank you, your avater is awesome too, such a cutie... I dont know about the garlic, Ive read that its bad for dogs & cats. Onion and garlic poisoning Onions and garlic are other dangerous food ingredients that cause sickness in dogs, cats and also livestock. Onions and garlic contain the toxic ingredient thiosulphate. Mine get the Brewers yeast mixed with a few other things that make up their vitamins. I also throw in 6 or 7 cloves of garlic when I cook up their rice mixture, but discard them when done. The oils are the only thing needed from the garlic anyway. My girls have never had a flea or tick and have never had any type of commercial flea & tick repellent applied onto them. Maybe I'm doing something right? ;) |
I'm joining u~ I really dont like the topical thing, dont think it's working that well on Duncan any way, I only tried frontline plus. Do u know how can omaga-3 in a tablet by any chance? I thought since it's a kinda of oil it should be in a gel form.. Quote:

Springtime We give these garlic tablets and have for several years with no side effects. We love them and the dogs think they are treats! They do end up with some garlic breath right after eating them but it goes away. ;) Dog - Bug Off Garlic Chewables - Springtime, Inc. |

I would not give garlic pills to a dog, but to each their own. |

yep... to each their own because I would never put chemicals on my dog. |
I know some people that have used garlic for years and never had a flea or a problem. They put garlic in dog foods, dry and canned. Some of the premium dog food makers.. like natural balance and Merricks have garlic added in their foods, there are others I just cant name them off the top of my head right now... why would they put garlic in the foods if it was that dangerous?? I have never heard of a dog falling ill from eating garlic.. Im sure there are stories out there, Ive just never seen them. Im not arguing that its good or bad, Im just wondering why?? Im sure you will find internet articles that will support both sides... so who is right?? Brewers yeast is also in a lot of dog foods, but if you look it up, you will see that it can cause bloat in some dogs, but its great for the coat and fleas in other articles.. sooo again.. who is right?? I guess its one of the those things that you need to decide what you feel is best for your pets and situation.. I must use something for my dogs and cats during high peak flea season, to do nothing but bath them and pick the fleas off is not an option. I will not have my house infested. I have tried home remedies that didnt work.. so I stick with frontline plus.. something I hate using but it works. So when I saw the garlic option I was going to try it, but do I dare?? Im off to do more research.... :) |
I use it. I get a HUGE box of it from an all natural pet supply company. I have never had any problems with my guys taking it. And I, personally, have noticed a huge difference in helping with a flea problem. Obviously, I still take steps to treating my yard and home, but when we go out in public you never know what you'll come across. This just ups my little guys' protection. |
