Has anyone else tried this food?
 
I saw this today at Food City and bought a roll of it to try after reading the ingrediants. Here is the website:

what do you guys think? The babies LOVED it!!!

Carmen, my babies LOVED it and I was so happy to see it in a Super Market. That just does not happen where I live. It is worth trying let me tell you. Great texture and not too smelly. Ingrediants look really good as well. No fillers.

Wow thank you for telling me, I have a super picky eater and she is on a vinge now with Natures Variety but usually it does not last...LOL I will keep it in mind for my next bout with Miss Prada's appetite...:)

I tried this food once and Jimi absolutely loved it, but for whatever reason I could not handle the smell of it; it made me sick to my stomach.. Which is strange because now I feed raw and have no problem with that smell. Weird lol. :p

My sons feed raw, I have to admit that I am a bit scare of raw..LOL their dogs seem to be so healthy and no issues, right now i am switching to natures variety, and i know raw is part of the rotation, I am hoping to do some raw by the summer.

Nature's variety kibble (both Instinct and Prairie) is coasted with freeze dried raw, so by giving them the kibble you are already introducing them to a little bit of raw in the process. Once you transition them to Nature's Variety, my understanding is that you can rotate and switch up meals between the Instinct and Prairie (kibble and wet) and the raw without any transitioning.

Freshpet is wonderful and my crew all give it a four paw rating.

wow it seems like a good food, very low in fat which is what I am looking for , that is great.. just seems weird its at a grocery food store???? Id love to try it , I think I may go and get a small thing of it to see if she likes it!!

Do you have to convert the fat to a dry matter basis? I know you do with canned foods to make them comparable to the fat content of kibble.

I dont know??? I hope someone comes alot and lets me know!! Id really like to try it tho, it seems very simple to use if it is already prepared....

Does she need a low fat food for health reasons? If so, and you're interested in trying this, I'd ask Ellie May to convert the fat content for you. She is amazing with this kind of stuff. Or, I know there are several threads where she breaks it down and shows the calculations that need to be used - maybe you could find one of her old posts with this info.

Bonnie, I just tried to find her, I never have luck with the search bar thingy!!
Id love to know I even searched to see if she is on... She had pacreatitis one time , therefore I am staying with a lowfat because I never ever want it to happen again I was soo scared, the dr thought it was just a very low case of it, but she sure looked sick! She may have eaten something outside that caused it or at the time I was adding organic coconut oil to her food, I have NO idea if she got into something outside either. I am just trying to stay with a low fat food to ensure it doesnt happen again.

I know! When I saw it I almost walked past because I just though oh its at food city it can't be a good food. Well much to my surprise it is great and my crew loves it! Such a big leap for this type of food to make it into a place like greeneville where everyone feeds their dogs old roy. Honestly people will laugh you out the door if you mention these high end foods. The response is always the same "they are just dogs" :mad:
