Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Venison. I then shred Natural Balance Turkey log over the top of the dry kibble. I also use a moisturizing spray on their coat before daily grooming.

wat exactly is a moisturizing spray?

Recently switched to Innova and for human food, boiled chicken breast.

Moisturizing spray helps with detangling and makes hair nice and shiny. Makes them smell better inbetween baths too.

How old is Duncan again? I think it's also the ones who have longer hair that you can see more of the shine. Uni is on Wellness. It's been about 2 or 3 months, and I can notice a difference in her hair. Growing faster thicker, and darker too! :D

Duncan is 13 months now. I was doing research between wellness and inova, however i forgot I chose inova over wellness back then...

Threads get moved around by the mods if they are not in the right section. For example, this thread is about food, so it got moved into "health and diet". There's just too many threads in general. Threads get buried too quickly. I always try to think if my thread will go in a specific section, if not, then I post in general. It just helps the mods in patrolling the entire forum. Anyway.... how did Duncan get fleas again? Flea stuff not working? I have never used flea meds on Uni, she only got fleas once, that was when we were away for a few days and BIL was watching her, surprise surprise. A bath with the flea shampoo and that was that. There are lots of fleas in CA but maybe it's the shampoo we use that repels them? We use biogroom. Minksheen I know has an ingredient that repels insects. what shampoo are you using? I used to use the cheap stuff from petco, but the extra money for the good stuff is really worth it. Biogroom sends free samples too if you email them. And they send them really fast!

Since Duncan is only 13 months, I say give it some time. Puppy hair is not that shiny. It's coarser and fluffier. Even though I know his black puppy hair is gone, they still go through changes well into 2 or 3 years. Uni is still changing. Are you planning on growing out his hair?

Lucky u!!!! Only once!! It's the second time I literarily saw fleas on Duncan, who knows when I took him in to vet last time, coz he's scraching too much was also coz of fleas or not.. The vet said it was infection, that's how I ended up to pay 2 times more than online price, mentioned in the other threat.. I think, just analyzing not being sure that Duncan gets fleas from grass in all kinds of parks.
I used some from online store for smelling good which works good on what it claims and some flea shapoo from petco, which doesnt really seem to get rid of fleas. I've seen some one reconmends Minksheen, which one shall I get? If you can be flea free just by using biogroom, I dont even need to worry about oral flea control treatment any more! I've been researching for 2 days already...

yeah, Duncan's hair is only good looking on his face head part, which is also where I found a flea after I kissed him there! Hopefuly he didnt get that flea from my kiss

I feed my babies Life's Abundance but I also put salmon oil on their food and it works great to help make their coat even shinier and stay shiny! (dont worry...salmon oil doesnt smell fishy like cod liver oil or just simple fish oil!):thumbup:

I'm not positive if Biogroom has anti bug stuff in it but I know for a fact that Minksheen does. I used it a few times, but I wasn't too keen on the scent. It is a really good product, just the fragrance was a bit strong for me.

Duncan can definitely get fleas from being in grass, there are lots of fleas in CA. We only take Uni to the park once a week, and we bathe right after that, maybe that's why we don't see fleas on her.

and i forgot to say in last reply that I dont plan to keep Duncan's hair long, since he likes to sniff in the back yard and parks. And he always has problems keeping his butt clean after he goes.Plus I like to dress him now..

It's such a tough choice, Duncan loves grass...

Ahhh gotcha! I say BIL b/c me and my bf have been together for 7 yrs and lived together for 6 yrs. They are like my family, but personally I just don't like saying my bf's brother. BIL is so much easier. :D I'm lazy so what? LOL But, also my sis's DH would also be my BIL. :p

Anyway, so if you are going to keep Duncan's hair shorter, you won't see as much shine, just b/c it is shorter, you know? But conditioning spray will help.
