My Pups Diet My Yorkie is about 1.5 years old (About 3-5 lbs) and I'm not sure if her diet is planned out well. 1. 8AM - Leave out dry pet food for her as I need to go to school. 2. 4PM - Come home from school and if she hasn't finish her food I leave it there or add a bit more. 3. 9PM - I cook fresh chicken breast (plain nothing else) for her, from local markets. Additional Info -Fresh water every meal -Recently have I just switched to Innova Evo Although I have had her for about almost a year, I am still not sure if this is a good diet as some people tell me it's not. Comments and thanks. |
Will be watching. Gracie only gets boiled chicken breast as a treat on occasion. She eats Royal Canine and I probably need to start feeding her two or three times a day. Right now it is always available. She is healthy. NOT thin at all but not heavy. Solid. ;) |
One concern when feeding homecooked is that the meals are balanced. If she gets less than 10% of her calories from people food, it's fine. If she gets more than 10%, supplements may need to be added (which usually requires the assistance of a nutritionist). I would say just don't overdo the chicken and it is okay. Innova is fine. I don't really see a problem as long as the chicken is skinless. |
