Dry Patchy Skin :animal-paMy baby came from the breeder with some dry patches. He said it is like dry skin humans get. We ask if there was anything special we should do he said no. He gave us Mane and Tail shampoo and told us it promotes hair growth. I am thinking I should use something a little more mild but not sure what to use. Suggestions please. I am making him a Puppy Dr.s appt. (vet) tomorrow. I also have a wire brush but haven't had to use it. Should I use the wire brush or try to find something with rubber bristles?:idontknow The dry patches remind me of "cradle cap" sometimes found on the top of an infants head. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! I would start out with a softer bristle brush ...even a cat brush. Try it on your arm first to see how it feels. You want his grooming experiences to be pleasant, happy events at this stage of life. Rubber bristles will pull the hair and cause discomfort. I would get some puppy shampoo from a petstore, not a grocery store brand. Mane & Tail is great for when he's older, and people can use it too. I can't make a guess to the skin stuff without seeing it, best to have the vet look at it as you have an appt already. Good Luck! |
