Pet Insurance I will receive my new pet at the end of January and I am working hard to prepare for his arrival. Are there any recommendations for a particular Pet Insurance Carrier? I see there are multiple options and do not want to fall prey to someone trying to make a quick dollar. Thanks! |
I know that there has been a few other threads about pet insurance on the forum that you can take a look at. I have pet insurance with Trupanion and I honestly dont have any complaints through them. You can go on their website and do a free quote and read about their policy. They pay 90% of the bill and there are no limits on claims. You can chose your own deductible which affects your monthly premium (higher deductible = lower premium and vice versa). You can compare pet insurance companies in an easy to read format. I hope you find what you are looking for! |
Pet Insurance Thanks for posting that. I'm also looking into Pet Insurance. My friend's sister is a vet and she recommended a few companies, but not that one. She doesn't recommend Banfield though, because it's a wellness plan, not pet insurance. |
I too have Trupanion pet insurance and they are great! I filed a claim earlier this year with them for my lil one and it was taken care of super fast and I didn't have to worry about the financial aspect of my vet bill. Trupanion is affordable and has already paid for itself. Having that accident happen this summer, and needing surgery..it can be costly! you never know when something can happen. Definitely worth looking into! :) If you are shopping around, I have learned by looking at other policies that pet owners should avoid routine coverage (regular exams, vaccines, etc), because you are just paying the costs through higher premiums thus not saving any money, and in most cases, losing money. Just make sure to ask a lot of questions and read the policies before deciding on one you will buy...and see what is best for you and your doggie. Good luck! :) |
