Shaking Problems I just brought home 8wk old Yorkie and noticed that sometimes when he goes to rest after eating he begins to shake, we cover and pet him but he still shakes. The seller told me he was dreaming and that he always did that but me, being the protective parent that I am would like to know if it is just dreaming or is it somethig more drastic. Also.. at what point do yorkie ears begin to stand |
Its normal its REM sleep. It is a good deep sleep. MY kitten does it also |
Since the puppy is young, you need to check a few things first before you consider all is well. 1. Are you making sure that the puppy is eating and drinking water? Sometimes they will get to playing so much that they forget to do these things. 2. Are you checking the puppies gums for low blood sugar? You need to make sure that you give this puppy some nutri-cal every day for a while until it becomes adjusted to your home. 3. Have you had it checked by the vet since you brought it home? 4. When in doubt, due to the size of an 8 week puppy, take it to the vet immediately. Most vets don't charge for re-checks. Develop a relationship with your vet and if you do have questions, most of the time you can call them and they can advise you over the phone. Puppies nervous systems develop rapidly while they are sleeping. This is why you will see them moving and such in their sleep. Good luck with your new puppy. |
First, my girls do this sometimes when they are sleeping and even will wimper or move their feet like they are running. However they are much older. I suggest a full check-up with your vet just to make sure there is no problem. Second, my yorkie's eyes never did stand up so I can't help with that one. |
