Oh those poor eyes Layla is 16ws and I had hopes that her face hair would be longer by now but alas it is not and it sticks in her eyes then they water and smell yucky. I wash her face,(unscented baby wipes) and brush her hair down out of her eyes but it gets back there. Bows are not going to help because the hair is not long enough. Any suggestions? I used a not menthol, non medicated lip balm once but do not want to get anything in her eyes. |
If you want her hair long, you will just have to wait it out. Just keep checking the eyes several times a day, which is what you are doing, and wait it out. Some people shave/cut the hair by the inner corners of the eyes. I used to do this as well. What ends up happening is when the hair grows out, it pokes even more in the eyeball, then you have the scary task of cutting the short little hairs right next to the eye. So I just let it grow out, and now it is long enough to lay down by itself. There is also a product specifically for dogs. Pet silk top knot gel. Hair gel for dogs. :D |
Thank you for the response. I had guessed that might be the answer. Layla is going through her "I am not going to eat THAT!" stage. My Husband took me to PetCo last night and we got Solid Gold Wee Bit and low and behold.... She ate it! we'll see how it goes. My GSD is getting lots of new kibble mixed in with his regular food.:p |
There are a couple of products, kind of like mousse for humans, that you can put on her. This stuff is not supposed to harm their eyes. I use Petsilk top knot gel. Or YT member Mimimomo sells another kind that's supposed to work well - just look for her thread in the for sale section. |
