ticks We have had some pretty cold temps here and the ticks still aren't freezing and dying erg. I went to give Callie a bath last night and as I was getting her wet I noticed something close to between her shoulder blades and looked at it and it was a tick the water made him pull out so i got the whole tick and flushed him but I feel so bad because I check Callie pretty good at bedtime when I'm putting her in her nightie and I never saw or felt the tick and shes has been tired and feeling icky and sleeping a lot the last two days and I'm guessing the sucker (no pun intended) was on her for two days poor baby. Its really red looking but I watching it to see if it fades out and if it dosen't show any difference by monday I'm gonna call the vet. I was hopping to go with out treating for fleas and ticks for December and January but guess not erg. |

my guy had a tick too! Last week I removed 2 ticks from my poor boy. I am in northern VA and use frontline year round. So I am not sure why he got them. (and yes they were attached) I am starting to think the frontline maybe isn't working as well for him. I am going to ask the vet about it on our next visit. |

Chase had two ticks this summer and I thought the same about Frontline but the vet asked me how often I was applying it. I responded once a month. He said it had to be given every 28 days. He said to mark the calendar and see if he is still getting them. If so..he said we can do every 26-27 days. Don't bathe him for two days before and after the application. Good luck! |
The frontline didnt work for Callie but the Advantix did I just thought it was going be to cold and that I could skip the December and January doses |
After going through two ticks here....Chase will stay on Frontine all year round. Is Advantix a higher dose of medicine than Frontline? Good luck to you!:) |
