Doggie Raw Meatballs Recipes. We (the dogs and I) have been having so much fun with the raw feeding. We mostly focus on prey model diet but do like to give them a little veggies and eggs here and there so I came up with those meatballs. 1 kg of ground beef 1/2 cup of raw peppers (any colors) finely ground. 1/2 cup of raw carrots finely ground 1 raw egg 1 tablespoon of olive oil. 2 tablespoon of Nutro (dog supplement) I put the pepper in the blender first to get some liquid and add the carrots to it after. You'll get a nice paste that you will mixed with the other ingredients. I make little meatballs with it and froze them. My dogs love it, I hope yours will too. :D So what is your favorite RAW RECIPES? |
Our raw "meatballs" contain 90% meat and 10% organ (5% liver), generally in weekly portions. For the meat we use either ground turkey, beef, or pork and for organ we use whatever is on the menu that week. We don't feed any vegetables except as an occasional snack :) |

Where's the calcium? I'd either add in a calcium (bone meal) supplement, or grind up chicken bones and add in, proportionate to the meat (about 10%). I'd probably change the vegetable oil to a fish oil, like salmon oil. Other than that, I think it looks fine as a tasty treat! |

The dogs are getting a lots of whole chicken including all the bones so I think they are ok for the calcium. Or should I gave them a capsule weekly like for the salmon oil? They get the meatballs a few times a week only. |
No, that sounds fine! I would just keep with the salmon oil pill and the raw chicken bones with meat and use the meatballs as a supplement. As long as they are getting some bones (about 10% of their diet), then that will be perfect! Also make sure that red meat is at least half their 80% meat allotment. I think we tend to get in a rut on feeding chicken (I know I do) and forget to add more meaty red meats into the mix. Beef heart is a great one that most dogs like. |

I am very intrigue by the mollases? I love it myself but what's good about it for the dogs? |

I use this for growing coat and for those that I want to put weight on. The dogs that gain weight too readily, I only give 1/2 meatball a day to. Mollasis This food is very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Vitamin B6 and Potassium, and a very good source of Magnesium and Manganese. |

My dogs don't get much red meat at all. Out of there 14 meals a week(I feed them twice a day) They get about: 3 meals of the beef meatballs 1 meal of green trippes patties.( smell so bad.. it's all I can take! lol) 1 meal of cottage cheese and raw eggs 2 meals of chicken hearth/gizzard (they love those!) 2 meals of chicken liver (they hate the beef liver). 4 meals of whole chicken with bones. 1 meal of turkey wigs with the bones. And they also get some chicken stripes for treat! So that is over 50% of chicken products plus the turkey. I am going to check out an organic farmer market today that I have found on the net. I am going to look for some red meat for the dog. My father bring me back a moose heart from his last hunting and the dogs loved it. So I am definitively going to ask for beef hearth. I think I might be feeding too much bones? |
That is great that you guys are having great luck with raw! I tried it with Wookie:aimeeyork but his little system just didn't like it. He had gas really really bad and pooped a ton!! And it wasn't just through the intitial switch... it lasted. Even his hollistic vet said that some dogs just can't handle it...so we are on Innova EVO and home cook. It works well for him and he likes it. I just really wanted to do raw cause I felt I was doing something sooooo good for him.....:animal-pa |
