Question about heat This may sound like a dumb question, what does a swollen vulva look like. I have searched before on google and on youtube to find out what signs to look out for when a female is in heat. They all say look for a swollen vulva, but what does that mean? Are there any other tell tale signs too watch out for? |
ok, I am not trying to be smart bud here..:D , here it goes .... now look at your girl's vulva, now inmagine it swollen, bigger and puffier.. yes, puffier, that is the best description I can come up with..:) |
Her little girl part will swell to about 4 times it's normal size. Trust me you will definitely notice the difference. |
It mean her little private area swells when she come in heat and you will be able to tell the difference. They will also have bleeding (some more then others). The heat cycle will be 21 day. 7 days coming in 7 days in heat 7 days going out Keep your female away from all males the whole cycle to guard against pregnancy. |
keep them away for a full month, I have had them tie on day 28. some girls are littl hussies. :D |

How is coming IN heat different from her actual heat? |

7 days in - showing color/bleeding 7 days coming out - when she is receptive to the male. Dependent on her cyle, usually beginning on the 10th day of showing color. I keep my girls away from the boys a total of one month. If I don't want her bred. |
Before Ellie was spayed, I knew she was in heat if she got very snuggly or if she had discharge or if her breath smelled different (from licking down there). I never saw her vulva get as swollen as others say their girls get. |
