spay and neuter questions I have two pups going to be 6 months soon. a male and a female. Would it be advisable if I get them fixed at the same time? Also, is persimmons safe for our yorkies? |
anybody? |
If it were me, I would do one at a time. Only because you want to be able to devote a little more of your time and attention. So in doing one at a time, you will be able to take care of each in a special way. |
I don't know about persimmons but I would probably do both at the same time. This way they will both be "out of it" at the same time and you can keep them on the same schedule for keeping activities down. They are supposed to stay quiet for 10 days or so after their procedures...not jumping type of things. Yeah, right. lol Good luck. :) |
I couldn't find hardly anything on persimmons for dogs so my advise is no...as one person said on ask the vet they shouldn't eat the seeds. I would also spay/neuter both dogs at the same time. For the most part both of them will come home and want to sleep. The next day they will almost be back to themselves but it would be much harder to me to have one still sore and one being crazy and not understanding why they can't play. |
I think I would do both at the same time also. |
My parents have persimmon trees in their back yard (the hard crunchy kind, not the mushy kind). My brother's Belgian Malinois eats them all the time, and I give my lil yorkie Rio bite size pieces occasionally. She absolutely loves them. The only thing I could find on the internet was cautioning to not allow them to eat the seeds, but my parents' persimmons don't have any seeds at all. I just peel them and cut into tiny bite size pieces and feed Rio maybe 3-4 pieces. |
if you home with them all day I would have them done at the same time.. hugs, Carmen in nj |
Thanks for the responses. I will get them fixed at the same time. As far as persimmons, I found this article: Dangerous Foods for Cats and Dogs - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com Not sure if the persimmons itself is not good or just the seeds. The one that I have don't have seeds. |
