Should I supplement? I am in the process of switching Max from Royal Canine to Natures Variety, and at the same time switching Sophie from Eukanuba to NV as well. On the package (NV) says "All Stages",so I assumed it was fine for a 13 week old.Now I started to wonder if I made the right decision. Is this correct, or should I add supplement her food with something else? |
I feed mine the RC #28 for the adults and #33 for the puppies under 10 months. the numbers correspond to the amount of protein. I think growing puppies need more protein. But that is JMO. |

here is what it says on the Natural Balance website Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Dog Food is made for All Life Stages and provides premium nutrition for every stage of life. In Nature, your pets would not have the choice of puppy formulas, nor lighter formulas for their senior years; they would simply live on a diet of mostly meat and and some grain. In a natural free environment, animals instinctively eat more or less, depending on their age and activity level. I think they are a high quality food too- and what they say makes sense. Sometimes I think some of these "special foods" are more marketing- but i don't know that to be true for puppy formula |

I know you know- but remember to go REALY slow with her- she is going from some not so great food to a high quality food- she will have a bit of detoxing and at 13 weeks she is tiny- so just go really slow :) |
me again :) found this on NV"s website Do you have a puppy/kitten formula? Why not? Every Nature's Variety diet is complete and balanced for all life stages, from energetic puppies and kittens to adult and senior dogs and cats. Our nutritious foods are rich in meat, poultry, and fish to nourish muscles and build strong bones. Beneficial fruits and vegetables are included to provide important vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Our wholesome foods will properly nourish your dog no matter what his age - so there's no need for life stage diets, like puppy or kitten formulas. |
