Would this be ok-Homecooked meals every so often? So, I wanted to make Sophie a homecooked meal for a treat instead of her kibble (Orijen). I want to start doing this every once in a while for a good treat for her. First I wanted to ask would this be ok? Second, I'm going to boil some chicken and some rice, but what other things would you suggest I put in? Carrots? Peas? And finally, how much chicken should I give her? I have 3 medium sized skinless, boneless breasts that I'm thawing from where I froze them a little while ago. Any suggestions would be great! |
That would be fine depending on what occasionally means here. If you wanted to make a homemade meal once a week, go for it. If you start to do it often and it's more than 10% of her diet on a regular basis, then it is probably time to supplement. Careful with fat, salt, and the toxic ingredient list though. For one meal, you won't even need one whole chicken breast. Rice is fine and most vegetables are okay. Carrots and peas are okay. |

I think I'll just boil the chicken and cook the rice and add in some carrots and some peas. Hopefully she'll enjoy it! |
