Childrens Vitamins Can I give the chewable kind to Lola? I buy my daughter just the regular multivitamins for kids. I usually got the gummie bear ones but she thinks their candy and wants too many of them so I got the regular ones this time. Would it be okay to give Lola some too? Not sure how much to give either. Thanks |
I don't think so, human needs are very, very different than a dogs and there could be materials in the human vitamin that could harm your dog. |
If your feeding a balanced diet your dog doesnt need vitamins and no I wouldnt give childrens |
Absolutely not, different requirements for dogs vs children. Besides childrens vitamins have artificial sweetners that are detrimental to dogs. As Chachi states, if you're feeding a good quality food vitamins are not necessary. |
Well she eats raw so I think that is balanced good. I just could of swore someone on here said they gave childrens vitamins. Oh well no big deal, I was kind of not sure so I thought I would ask. |

No, the metabolic demands for vitamins differ greatly between dogs and humans and expecially between dogs and kids. You can cause a lot of problems if you give them an excess of vitamins. |
There are some human vitamins that can be given to dogs as long as they do not contain xylitol. Sometimes homemade recipes even call for them. I would not do it without a recipe though. |
