Burping up water after drinking?
 
Lillie always seems like she's drinking too much, too fast. She takes a huge gulp of water and burps/throws it up. Not 'all the time" just sometimes. She does always make a burping noise after drinking water.

This just makes me a little nervous because of the whole diabetes thing.

Anyone else have a yorkie that does this too? Should I take her to the vet over this little thing??

Marley burps too after drinking. She is just fine , so I don't know if I would take her to the vet. She just gets in a hurry drinking sometimes.

One of my dogs have always drank like that....almost always burps and sometimes vomits :confused: but totally healthy this is just how he drinks I guess

It is really not always okay for them to throw up after drinking, but some dogs just drink too fast. I would try to slow the drinking down and see what happens.

Lola does the same thing...drinks too fast and then a few seconds later its all over the floor...it happens more after a long walk....I think its safe to say your lil one is normal :)

I don't know how old your baby is but when my Bryan was younger he would also throw up after drinking water too fast....he's gotten older and has calmed down a bit and it doesn't do it anymore... I wouldn't be alarmed at all...good luck with your baby

Thanks! I was thinking it was just me being too concerned. You know, like when you hear ONE LITTLE SYMPTOM you automatically think they are going to die in 5 minutes! Ugh...I just can't imagine.

Lillie is 19 weeks (over 4 monhts) so I guess she's still a pup who needs to control her 'drinking' haha:p She doesn't do this everytime just when she's SUPER thirsty.

Molly drinks way too fast, then sometimes ends up burping and retching as if she's choking...such a classy lady!! :D

i believe they will out grow this.....Bryan doesn't do that anymore :D but when he was bet 3 and 7 months :eek: don't worry Mom

Beckett does it occasionlly and of course it seems to always end up all over me :eek:

JoJo is a fast drinker too. His is a combination of coughs/burps. He's only thrown it up once.
