Is my yorkie in heat? Hello I am new to this site...I am trying to find out information about my yorkie being in heat! She is not bleeding yet but she is 9 months old and is acting funny...crying alot and her nipples are looking fuller. I have a appointment to her spayed in two weeks! I have read that you should not do this if she is on heat. Any advise??? thanks BabyShelby |
I think you should be ok. Just make sure you mention it to your vet when you take her in for the operation. |

if her nipples are looking fuller that is a sign....fiona came into heat the day before i had to get her spayed, and her spay got pushed back 2 weeks, you may want to call your vet, and ask them! |
Additional Question I am not trying to interfere with your thread, but was just trying to post a thread of my own about the first heat. Jillie was 6 months old yesterday. We were visiting some friends with dogs. Their male is altered. Jillie was putting her hiny in their males face. She does not do this with my altered male. It was a surprise to me that she displayed this behavior. My sweet baby acting like a hussey. lol I plan on having her spayed in about 10 days, but am wondering if she is in the beginnings of heat. She is not showing any physical signs of it. Thanks |

I know that licking a lot down in the area is a sign too, is she doing that? I mean, you will notice the bloody discharge, i was so upset when Fiona came into heat, since I told the vet she needed to be done sooner than what he wanted! |
